Wolverine Men’s Raider shoes are famous for being waterproof and yet comfortable. A couple of months back, I decided to purchase Wolverine Men’s, Buccaneer Work Boot. I felt the price was right, and reviews were also good. However, there was one chink in the Armour.
The break in time for the Wolverine Men’s Buccaneer Work Boot was quite gradual. On the first day, it did not provide me much comfort, but it did not provide a single blister too.
81 percent of users agreed that the fitting of the shoe was excellent.
The size I took was the regular one which I use for this company. However, because the Wolverine Men’s Buccaneer Work Boot has a variant which has no steel toe, I was able to suck up the extra front space very comfortably. The regular toe also kept the shoe’s weight down.
Sadly, the sole also lacked puncture resistance, but it came with shock absorption. This absorption occurs thanks to the compression pads fixed at the inner side of the sole. The pads worked like a charm here. The shoes were quite flexible in nature, and they can successfully keep your ankles safe.
Safety and protection features
The Wolverine Men’s Buccaneer Work Boot comes with a selection of soft or steel toe. I selected the steel one and apart from the weight, you won’t even notice its presence.
However, both the variants lack electrical hazard safety protection—and without the steel shank, you won’t be able to walk carelessly at dangerous sites. Still, I was impressed with the product’s slip resistant outer sole. I even tested them on oil, water and even gravel, and it did work well.
It’s mixed bag in this particular section. You can’t use the Wolverine Men’s Buccaneer Work Boot at freezing atmospheres. But at relatively normal temperatures, they perform well.
The Wolverine Men’s Buccaneer Work Boot also is quite waterproof, as rain and puddles have not made much of a difference. The Wolverine Company is renowned for making top quality beautiful and appealing boots. However, it’s not the same case with these. You may feel they look a bit generic and outdated. Lacelets of the Wolverine Men’s Buccaneer Work Boot are shocking, to say the least. But, the large numbers of users speak otherwise; maybe it’s my own agenda.
I did not wear them, for style reasons, for more than 2 months. Hence, my opinion won’t matter.
The Wolverine Men’s Buccaneer Work Boot has been reviewed a whopping 265 times on the Amazon website. It possesses a 4 and a half star rating out of the 5. People loved its comfort and decent leather quality. However, in the durability section, users predict just a bit more than one year of usage.
The final word
Well, let me put it this way—I do not like the Men’s Buccaneer. Yes, they are quite comfortable to use and very well made, but they are just outdated for my liking. But, it’s valued for money, and if you like them, then you can go for them.
